GENERAL

On 5 June 2012, new regulations came into force with regard to the use of so-called "cookies" on web pages. These rules are incorporated in Article 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act (TW). The new regulations also relate to your privacy. And of course your privacy is important to us. On this page you will find more information about these new regulations and how Petite Beaute’ uses cookies.

Notwithstanding the fact that the "cookie law" has been in force since 5 June, it is not yet entirely clear to the authorities involved how the new regulations will actually work in practice. We will follow the developments further and will therefore take the necessary steps to be in order with these regulations.

Cookies are used by us to improve your ease of use on our website. Below you will find a further explanation about cookies, what they are used for and how you can opt out of cookies, if you wish.

WHAT ARE COOKIES AND HOW DOES PETITE BEAUTE USE THEM?

Cookies are text files with small amounts of information that your computer or mobile device stores when you visit a website. Cookies have different functions:

-          they ensure that you can efficiently navigate through the website;

-          they remember your preferences in order to make a subsequent visit to the site easier;

-          they can ensure that online marketing is tailored to your interest.

Cookies are not dangerous. They are not computer programs and they cannot be used to distribute computer viruses.
Cookies are completely safe and are not used to retrieve your private data or passwords from your computer or to retrieve passwords.

WHAT TYPE OF COOKIES ARE THERE?

There are 2 different types of cookies that can be subdivided per type and per functionality.

1st party cookie: The 1st party cookies are placed when the visitor opens the Petite Beaute’ website. The 1st party cookies are either necessary, functional or performance (see functionalities below).

3rd party cookie: The third-party cookies follow visitors from website to website with the aim of building up a "profile". The third-party cookies are mainly targeting (see functionalities below).

The cookies can fill one of the following functionalities:

-          Necessary: These cookies are necessary to surf on websites and to use the functions.  Without these cookies, facilities such as shopping baskets and electronic payment are not possible.

-          Functional: With these cookies, websites remember which choices you made while surfing. These cookies are used, for example, to store preferences such as text size and font. The information collected with these cookies cannot be used to retrieve your identity.

-          Performance: These cookies collect information about your surfing behavior on websites, for example which pages you visit frequently. On the basis of this information, websites and their navigation can be optimized. These cookies are also used to keep track of how you ended up on a website. With these cookies no information is stored with which your identity can be retrieved. All information collected with these cookies is stored in the form of anonymous statistics.

-          Targeting: These cookies follow a user for a long time on different websites and are thus able to build a profile. This allows a user to be segmented for specific interest. These cookies are often used to profile online for targeted online advertising. An advertisement network places a cookie on the user's PC via a third-party site. This cookie can be read by the network on the website that is located in this advertisement network.
